FutureLearn set up in the British Library, in central London’s Knowledge Quarter in 2013. The company now has a global community of learners from more than 190 countries.

FutureLearn’s courses come from over 70 of the world’s leading universities and specialist educators including the British Council, the European Space Agency and University College London.

Millions of users join the London-based platform

In May 2015 FutureLearn delivered the world’s biggest ever MOOC, with more than 440,000 people signing up to prepare for the IELTS English language proficiency test.

In October 2015 the number of people using FutureLearn passed the 2.5m mark.
